The governor of San Juan, Marcelo Orrego, celebrated the agreement between the Nation and the multinational Vicuña Corp. for the exploitation of copper in the Cuyo region on Tuesday, calling it a 'historic' milestone. Orrego described the agreement, which will create jobs in the region, as 'historic' and announced it on his official X account. Vicuña Corp.'s $18 billion investment plan over 10 years for the development of Josemaría and Filo del Sol marks a before and after for our province, he said, adding that there will be 'more production, more exports, and more jobs for the people of San Juan'. Finally, he affirmed that 'from the Government we are going to accompany this process with clear rules, environmental control, and development of local suppliers, so that the growth stays in San Juan'.
